Environmental Monitoring | Print |
Biological monitoring is now extensively integrated into environmental management programs worldwide. The advantage of including biological monitoring in evaluation systems over the sole use of physical and/or chemical data is that living organisms occupy their habitat continuously and experience stressors, changes and modifications taking place therein. The response of living organisms integrates the cumulative effects of environmental change over time, and these may be sensitive to several different pollutants and stressors simultaneously. Biological monitoring, therefore, provides a means to assess the biological significance of changes within a given environment.

CESAR Consultants use insects and other animals to assess the quality and health of terrestrial and aquatic environments. We apply the latest cutting-edge research to determine the impacts urbanization, industrialization and agriculture have on our environment. Our services include developing indicator groups that can be used by local governments, industry and land holders to assess the health of local environments.
